Using QR Codes With Surveys

QR codes are a great way to connect your off-line survey participants to an online survey or questionnaire. Simply add a link to your survey to a QR code and print the QR code on your posters or flyers, in your print-based customer mail outs, or in your catalogue or brochure.

Just follow the simple steps shown below to make a free, non-expiring QR code for your survey at QRStuff.com.

Get Your Survey Link

We’re assuming you’ve already created your survey so now you’ll need to find the URL of your survey so that you can use it in your QR code. We’ve included some instructions for the two most popular DIY survey platforms – Survey Monkey and Google Forms – but the process will be similar with other services as well.

If you’re using Survey Monkey:

  1. Go to the “Collect Responses” section of your survey.
  2. Choose the “Web Link” collector type.

  1. The default survey link will look something like https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/P58B9BX, or like https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MySurvey if you’ve created a Custom link.
  2. Copy this link to use for your QR code (more on that later).

If you’re using Google Forms:

  1. Open your survey and click the “Send” button in the top right corner of the page.
  2. Choose “Link” (and optionally shorten the URL if you like).
  3. Copy the displayed link to use for your QR code (more on that later).

Create Your QR Code

  1. Go to QRStuff.com to create a QR code for your survey or questionnaire.
  2. Select “Website URL” as your data type in column 1.
  3. Paste your survey link (from the steps shown above) into the box provided.
  4. Select whether you wish to make a static or a dynamic QR code (more info about this here).
  5. QR code styling is available for paid subscribers however free users can change the foreground colour of their QR code in column 3.
  6. Click the “Download QR Code” button to download your finished QR code.
