Christmas is just around the corner and in this guide you’ll learn how to create a Christmas Coupon QR Code that leads your customers to your e-commerce website with a discount or coupon offer automatically enabled. Now that’s a great customer shopping experience at any time of the year, but at Christmas it will really help you cut through the clutter.

Create Your Shareable Coupon Code Link

If you use one of the leading e-commerce platforms there’s usually a two-step process to initially create a discount offer, and then create ór copy a link URL for the user to follow that automatically applies the offer when they visit your store. This shareable link is what you need for the “Create Your Coupon QR Code” section below.

Here’s the process for creating your shareable coupon link for some of the more popular e-commerce platforms:

Shopify – Navigate to your Shopify Admin panel and select “Discounts” to create your Shopify discount coupon. Once you’ve created and saved it, create a shareable discount link by clicking on the “Promote” button. This is the link that you add to your QR code.

Etsy – Recently Etsy introduced a shareable URL into their coupon creation flow. In the Shop Manager tab go to Marketing->Sales And Coupons->Create A Coupon and set up your discount coupon in the normal fashion. The final set up stage is to review your discount coupon – on this screen there is now a field showing a shareable URL.

eBay – Use your Promotions Manager to create a Codeless Voucher (or Codeless Coupon in some countries) offering a discount or promotion offer. Once your Codeless Voucher has been created, select “Review” and a shareable URL will be displayed.

Woocommerce – They make it pretty easy for store owners with the URL Coupon plugin that allows you to set up a custom store URL for your discount promotion.

Magento – Pretty much the same process as Woocommerce – create your discount coupon or shopping cart rule and then use an extension like this one to specify a unique URL for it.

Wix – If you have a Wix Store e-commerce website, first create your Price Discount Coupon and then create and send a Shout Out Newsletter about the promotion to yourself, and copy the coupon code link included in the email. This is the link you add to your QR code.
